Player Groups are also called guilds. Players in a guild have a private global chat that only members of that guild can use, just like the chat tab for parties. The guild system currently in use is managed by a Guild (Bot), which means that all actions, like inviting new members, are directed through him. When your guild chat tab is missing it's most likely because Guild (Bot) is offline.
